To build on the Rock (3)

But the more we discover who Christ is, the more that small stone grows (Matthew 13:12) so that it becomes a large stone and finally a large rock which we will not merely cling to but on which we will firmly install ourselves.

After being overwhelmed when this revelation was only a small stone, then we will only be lashed by the waves of the trial. After that we will only take some splashing, a few drops, and finally our rock will become so big – so big and wide – that the water of the storm will not reach us any more.

From here we can look down on the breaking storm, firmly planted on this revelation of Christ Almighty, until the storms calms!
