The inheritance of those who fear God

"For You, o God! You grant my wishes. You give me the inheritance of those who fear your name" (Psalm 61:6).

There is an inheritance for those who respect and honour the name of God, who is a refuge and stronghold in the face of our enemies. This inheritance is for the sons and daughters of God; it forms part of the covenant promise to Abraham for his descendants and renewed to Jacob (Genesis 28:13-15).

In fact, God promised to protect Abraham’s descendants and never to abandon them. Thus, He honours his covenant, and has compassion on those who fear Him and fulfil their vows and promises to Him.
