I will sing with my glory

by Jean-Louis Coraboeuf

"My heart is steadfast, O God! I will sing and give praise, even with my glory [kabod]" (Psalm 108:1).

Man is created in the image of God, which is why his soul is unique and also his glory. In this verse, we see that the psalmist’s heart is steadfast because he leans on God, who has spoken in his holiness: I will rejoice (Psalm 108:7).

That is why the psalmist invite the noblest part of himself to sing praises to his God. His soul, just like a lute or a harp, is his beautiful instrument to give back all the glory to his Creator.

Even in the midst of our testing times, let us invite our soul, which is to say, our glory, to sing because God is faithful and good (Psalm 57:8-12)!
