Narrow is the gate

by Jean-Louis Coraboeuf

"For narrow the gate and straitened the way that leads to life [zoe], and they are few who find it" (Matthew 7:14 Darby).

Jesus is the 'Gate' that allows us to enter the way of true life, the eternal life [zoe]. This 'Gate' is so narrow that few people find it among the multitude of wrong gates, and its narrowness also does not allow us to pass through with luggages from the world.

After we have gone through the 'Gate', Jesus becomes our 'Way' for the rest of our earthly life. However, Jesus warns us that even the narrow way will be lined with false prophets (Matthew 7:15) who will want to rob us of eternal life, "Not everyone who says Lord, Lord, shall enter the Kingdom of God" (Matthew 7:21).
