Whatever He hears, He will speak

by Jean-Louis Coraboeuf

"But when He that comes, who is the Spirit of truth, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak from Himself, but whatever He hears, He will speak, and He will announce the coming things to you" (John 16:13 Interlinear).

The Holy Spirit never speaks in His own authority, but He reveals to men the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:11) and He glorifies the Father and the Son in speaking of them (John 16:14-15). He also hears conversations of the Father and Son, and He reveals them to men.

As God does nothing without revealing His secret to His servants the prophets (Amos 3:7), the Holy Spirit is announcing right now what God is preparing, particularly the marriage of the Church to Christ. He therefore speaks to today's Church through latter-day 'John the Baptists' with the spirit of Elijah, so that She can prepare Herself to enter the wedding hall (the rapture).
