For the Scripture cannot be untied

by Jean-Louis Coraboeuf

"If those to whom the word of God came were called 'gods' – and the Scripture cannot be broken [luo]..." (John 10:35 Interlinear).

The Greek word luo also means untie, undo, remove; and Jesus declares that the Scripture cannot be untied from any word because it is the Truth of God and it forms an inseparable whole, even if this does not always suit us. Jesus said, "Whosoever therefore shall untie [luo] one of these least commandments and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven" (Matthew 5:19).

Not the slightest commandment can be untied from the Scripture as it is inspired by God, and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be perfect (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Thus tradition and human dogma, putting themselves above the Scripture, nullify the Word of God (Mark 7:13).
