A man in whom is the Spirit of God

by Jean-Louis Coraboeuf

"And Pharaoh said to his servants, Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?" (Genesis 41:38).

Pharaoh had two dreams: one of the seven fat cows and the seven gaunt cows, and the seven full ears of corn and the seven thin ears of corn. Joseph interpreted these dreams and told Pharaoh, "The dream was repeated to Pharaoh twice because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass" (Genesis 41:32). Pharaoh then set Joseph over all the land of Egypt.

The apostle Paul explains that "The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God ... because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things"(1 Corinthians 2:14-15). Joseph was the only man of Egypte able to interpret Pharaoh's dreams inspired by God because he had in him the Spirit of God. As Joseph we need the Holy Spirit to understand and interpret everything and every situation.
