Judgement of the household of God

by Jean-Louis Coraboeuf

"For the time [kairos] has come for judgement to begin with the household of God; if it begins with us, what will be the end for those who do not obey the gospel of God" (1 Peter 4:17).

When speaking about judgement, kairos is the time that is used; and this time only belongs to God. Since God is the same yesterday, and today, and for ever, and as He judged the Hebrew people in His time, He judged, judge, and will judge His Church in His time kairos.

This phrase "judgement begins with the household of God" cannot therefore be a marker to locate the end times, because God has already begun to judge His Church from the first century according to Revelation chapters 2 and 3. God is sovereign, He thus judges His House whenever it is necessary.
