Zivug
The Zivug is the predestined kindred spirit, the spouse according to God's will. Having created man on the 6th day of the Creation, God said, "It is not good that man should be alone" (Genesis 2:18a). Then God "caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam and took one of his ribs to create the woman" (Genesis 2:21-22). Thus God made man "a helper comparable to him" (Genesis 2:18b) so that he finds his fulfilment in union with his wife.
